Description
Featured is the leaf of the Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera), one of my favorite trees. The Tulip Poplar is the tallest native hardwood of the Eastern United States and is one of only two species in the world belonging to the genus Liriodendron, the other being native to China and Vietnam. It reaches its largest size of up to 60m (190ft) in the Southern Appalachians and is the state tree of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana.
